Share Your Live Event Experience.

Do you work as a stagehand technician or in live events? Your experiences matter, and I’d love to include them in my upcoming book, Backstage Essentials: Skills for Stagehand Technicians in Live Event Production.

Purpose:

To relate “experience highlights,” “quick insights,” or “illustrative moments,” not detailed case studies or lengthy narratives.

Example (from a recent event I did):

The last event kicked off with a grueling two-hour load-in for the lighting, video, and sound, and there were only two of us. It made me nervous. But we accomplished everything. I had spent days in planning every detail. Power requirements were determined, and each venue connection was mapped; cable runs were also itemized. Gear was redundantly checked, and we had straightforward roles: one for power and audio and the other for video and lighting. Having planned everything in advance, we reached 'show ready' status with plenty of time to spare, avoiding severe delays. Without that preparation, that deadline would have been unreachable.

Singular Focus:

I'd like you to focus on a single, powerful takeaway message or lesson learned.

Expectations Once Received:

Your submission may be edited for clarity, style, and brevity to ensure it fits within the book’s overall framework. You can stay anonymous or have your name, company, and venue featured in the book.

Tone:

Maintain a tone that is professional yet engaging, authentic, and reflective of real-world experience in live event production.

Thank you!!!
